In this article, we’ll be comparing the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro. These are the most powerful smartphones Samsung and Vivo have to offer at the moment. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is right around the corner, though, that is worth noting. The Vivo X200 Pro is technically a generation newer than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Comparing them should be rather interesting, though.
Both of these are not only flagship smartphones, but they’re both also large devices. On top of that, they’re quite a bit different. That goes for the design, cameras, and everything in between, basically. We’ll kick things off by listing their specifications. Following that, we’ll compare their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro: Design
The moment you lay your eyes on these two phones you’ll realize how different they are. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has sharp corners, and flat top and bottom sides. The Vivo X200 Pro has rounded corners and a flat frame all around. That frame is a bit rounded towards the edges, though. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a flat backplate and a flat display. The Vivo X200 Pro’s display is quad micro-curved, as is its backplate. That means that the display itself is flat, but the glass on top of it is slightly curved on the edges, on all four sides.
Samsung’s handset comes with a titanium frame and a glass backplate. The Vivo X200 Pro combines an aluminum frame with a glass backplate. Two different glass backplates are used, though, so the weight differs from one model to the next. Both smartphones include a centered display camera hole at the top of their displays. Both have uniform bezels all around, though the ones on the Vivo X200 Pro are slightly thinner.
The power/lock and volume up and down buttons are located on the right-hand side of both phones. The power/lock button sits below the other two on both devices. On the back, you’ll notice rather different-looking camera setups. All the cameras on the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s back protrude on their own, all four of them. The Vivo X200 Pro has a dedicated camera island, a circular one, and three cameras on the inside. ZEISS is a part of the package here too, on the Vivo X200 Pro.
Both of these smartphones are IP68 certified. The Vivo X200 Pro also comes with an IP69 certification. They’re almost identical in terms of height, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra is wider and slightly thicker. It is also a bit heavier than the Vivo X200 Pro. Both devices are quite slippery, though, so keep that in mind.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro: Display
There is a 6.8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel included on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It is flat, and it features HDR10+ support. It also supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz. The peak brightness here is 2,600 nis, while the resolution is 3120 x 1440 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio on this display is around 88%, while the display aspect raito sits at 19.5:9. The Gorilla Armor glass protects this panel.
The Vivo X200 Pro, on the flip side, has a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display. This panel can project up to 1 billion colors and supports HDR10+. Dolby Vision support is also included, while this panel does support adaptive refresh rate too, from 1 to 120Hz. The resolution here is 2800 x 1260 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio is around 90%, while the Armor Glass protection is included on top of the display.
Both of these displays are great, but there are some differences. They’re both vivid, sharp, and have great viewing angles. They’re also well protected. The Vivo X200 Pro’s panel can get a bit brighter when you need it to, though both are bright enough. The Gorilla Armor on top of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s display is great at battling glare. The touch response is really good on both panels.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro: Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC fuels the Galaxy S24 Ultra around the globe, a 4nm processor. That chip is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The Vivo X200 Pro, on the other hand, is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. That is a 3nm processor by MediaTek, the company’s most powerful one thus far. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.
MediaTek’s chip is technically more powerful, it’s a generation newer. Still, both of these chips are immensely powerful, so the performance is really not a problem on either phone. They’re both very snappy and can handle everyday tasks with ease. Even if we’re talking about intense multitasking, it’s not a problem. Both phones can also handle the most demanding games out there without a problem.
Yes, both of them do get quite warm if you’re playing games for a longer period of time, but the heat should not be an issue with either of them. Both companies do a good job with that. Neither of these phones is technically a gaming smartphone, though, which is worth noting, even though they can handle games without a problem whatsoever. The performance in general is not an issue on either phone, not at all.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro: Battery
Samsung’s handset has a 5,000mAh battery on the inside. The Vivo X200 Pro includes a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. The Vivo X200 Pro does have a larger battery, and it generaly does offer better battery life. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is not as far behind as its battery capacity may indicate, not at all. Both of these smartphones actually offer outstanding battery life, and they’re well-suited for power users.
The screen-on-time numbers will, of course, depend on your usage, and some other factors, so it’s difficult to predict. However, getting over 7 hours of screen-on-time with plenty of juice left in the tank should not be a problem if you’re not gaming all that much, and your signal is good. As I said, though, your mileage may vary, as there are simply too many factors to consider when it comes to battery life. It will vary from one person to the next.
What doesn’t vary all that much is the charging speed. The Vivo X200 Pro has a serious advantage in that department. The phone supports 90W wired, 30W wireless, and reverse wired charging. The Galaxy S24 Ultra supports 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The Vivo X200 Pro does charge considerably faster, and it also comes with a charger in the box, unlike the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Vivo X200 Pro: Cameras
There are four cameras included on the back of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It has a 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor size), a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (120-degree FoV, 1/2.55-inch sensor size), a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, 1/3.52-inch sensor size), and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (5x optical zoom, 1/2.52-inch sensor size). The Vivo X200 Pro, on the flip side, includes three cameras.
Vivo’s flagship has a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor size), a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (119-degree FoV, 1/2.76-inch sensor size), and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (3.7x optical zoom, 1/1.4-inch sensor size). Vivo’s handset also comes with ZEISS optics. Both of these smartphones are capable of producing great photos, but one of them stands above the other in our opinion.
The Vivo X200 Pro does stand out, without a doubt. It’s one of the best camera smartphones this year, if not the best one. The Galaxy S24 Ultra tends to use sharpening a bit too much in some situations, not to mention that the HDR shots can look a bit odd at times, the same goes with colors. The Vivo X200 Pro is much better at balancing out shots, and it’s way more consistent. Its photos look vivid, and yet very close to real life at the same time.
That goes for all their cameras, pretty much, as we did prefer all three from the Vivo X200 Pro. Both main cameras do a great job during the night too, but once again the Vivo X200 Pro does better at balancing things out. It also has a much better periscope telephoto camera hardware, which is obvious once you start using it. Portraits and macro photos that the Vivo X200 Pro provides are on a higher level. Even the phone’s selfie camera does a better job overall. Video recording is a tossup, though, that’s one area where the Galaxy S24 Ultra can easily compete, maybe even win.
Audio
Both of these phones include a set of stereo speakers. Those speakers are actually quite similar in both terms of loudness and the quality of audio output. They’re basically on the same playing field, and both sets do a very good job.
Neither phone has an audio jack, but they do have Type-C ports which you can use instead of a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with Bluetooth 5.3, while the Vivo X200 Pro offers Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless audio connectivity.
