The One UI 7 beta program started a week ago for Galaxy S24 series owners. Testers have been enjoying the new features that Samsung has been working on. They have also been experiencing the revamped design with new UI and animations. Anyway, if you feel that the animations in the first One UI 7 beta could be better, Samsung is aware of it.
Leaks around One UI 7 have revealed that it will be the biggest change seen in Samsung’s custom skin in years. The company wants to offer a lively and fresh visual experience. To do so, the animation engine is a key element, as even the most subtle ones can completely change the perception of a UI.
Samsung is still working on One UI 7 animations
One UI 7 integrates a revamped animation engine with richer and more detailed movements and transitions. However, Samsung has confirmed that there is still work ahead before reaching the optimal point. In fact, as spotted by a user on Samsung Community, the animations in the first public beta of One UI 7 feel less fluid and polished than those seen during the internal testing stage. The problem lies mainly in the animations of opening and closing apps.
A mod and member of the One UI beta team responded to the user’s post, confirming that the company is still working on One UI 7 animations. “The unfolding effect with deceleration in ZXKN [internal testing build] indeed sounds more fluid and natural, as you’ve described,” said the moderator. “Our software development is on the way,” they added.
Samsung confirmed that it wants to work hard on the visual aspect of the One UI 7 update. During SDC 2024, the firm even said that it wants its Android’s custom skin to produce “a positive emotional response” when you use it. Smooth animations with flawless transitions will be key to achieving this.
A recent leak claimed that Samsung will release One UI 7 beta 2 today (December 12). Even if it doesn’t happen, it should be available in the coming days. It will be interesting to see if the next beta integrates improvements to the animation engine.
