If you are a fan of rugged smartphones, you must be aware that Samsung also deals in that category. The Galaxy XCover 7 is one such example that the company launched earlier this year. Samsung is also readying its next rugged Android smartphone, allegedly the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro. Now, a fresh leak confirms that Samsung’s next rugged smartphone will feature a bigger battery than its predecessor.

The latest news comes via the Spanish news outlet Galaxy Club which spotted a listing on Safety Korea’s website with battery details. Per the listing, the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro will pack a bigger 4,350mAh battery.

To catch you up, the Galaxy XCover 7 has a 4,050mAh battery. While it sounds like an upgrade, it might not be enough as rugged phones generally offer a longer battery life. It’s worth noting that the spotted listing also includes a photo of the actual battery.

Apart from the battery’s image and capacity, there are no further details available at this point. Since the next device will be a new addition to the rugged XCover series, we are expecting to see some upgrades over its predecessors. It’ll be interesting to see if Samsung pushes meaningful upgrades to lure customers to switch up.

The phone could debut sometime in 2025

In the past, the South Korean tech giant debuted many XCover rugged phones in Q2, with some launches happening at the start of the year. Rumors suggest that Samsung won’t launch the XCover 8 Pro until mid-2025. However, based on the battery certification, we can expect an early launch, sometime in Q1 2025.
