Huawei has just shared the very first look at the design of its upcoming foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X6. The company did that via its social media channels, while also kicking off pre-bookings for the device in China.

Before we get down to talking about the design itself, do note that this basically confirms that the Huawei Mate X6 will launch on November 26. That is the confirmed date for the Huawei Mate 70 launch, and it seems like the company’s new foldable is also coming.

Huawei provides us with a first look at the Mate X6 foldable

With that being said, the Huawei Mate X6 is shown both above and below. Granted, we only see most of the phone’s back, its hinge, and a tiny portion of its internal display here. This is not a full reveal by any means.

However, the similarities with the HONOR Magic V3 are kind of apparent here. The camera island on the back is kind of similar, well, the design is thanks to that rim around the cameras themselves.

The hinge is not protruding that much at all, which is also the case with the HONOR Magic V3. You’ll notice that four cameras are included on the back here. The XMAGE camera branding is also visible inside the camera island.

There are two different variants of the phone shown here. This Red model includes vegan leather on the back. The other variant has a rather interesting pattern on the back, and it most likely includes a glass backplate.

The company has also revealed the phone’s color variants

Do note that other colors have been revealed too. The official names are Deep Sea Blue, Nebula Gray, Nebula White, Obsidian Black, and Universal Red. The ones shown above are Universal Red and I’m guessing Nebula Gray models.

The phone’s power/lock and volume up and down buttons are also visible here. You’ll also notice that the frame around the phone is not flat, that’s also something this phone has in common with the HONOR Magic V3.

Huawei will announce this smartphone in less than a week, so stay tuned for more information, as this is everything we know thus far.
