WBD and NBA resolve directing dispute, 'Inside the NBA' will air on ESPN and ABC

The legal connection between WBD and the NBA has ended.

The case brought by WBD has been resolved in New York Supreme Court, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Saturday. Accordingly, Warner Bros. Discovery is able to develop new programs such as NBA and WBD will have international directives from the NBA in Northern Europe and Latin America, excluding Mexico and Brazil.

Warner Bros. also signed on. Discovery has signed an agreement with Disney to license TNT's hit show “Inside the NBA” to ESPN and ABC starting next season. The program features host Ernie Johnson, with analysis by Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and two NBA champions Kenny Smith and Shaquille O'Neal. Bleacher Report and House of Highlights will continue to feature NBA content.

The NBA has agreed to 11-year deals with Amazon, ESPN and NBC worth a combined $76 billion, which will replace TNT Sports with WBD as the league's local broadcaster. The new agreements will begin at the beginning of the 2025/26 season

WBD claimed that the NBA breached its contract for making WBD's counteroffer for a new media rights agreement.

TNT has been broadcasting NBA games since 1989, and has hosted numerous events, such as NBA All-Star Weekend and playoff games, including the Eastern and Western Conference Finals.

WBD did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
