However, there have also been rumors about an “Ultra” model. The leaks hinted at a massive battery capacity for the Oppo Find X8 Pro. Now, the company has confirmed that the Pro’s cell will pack even more power.

Almost 6,000 mAh battery for the Oppo Find X8 Pro

Oppo officially revealed the battery capacity of the Oppo Find X8 Pro in a poster shared on Weibo (via TECH INFO on X). The device will boast a massive 5,910 mAh cell, the company confirms. Previous leaks pointed to a capacity of around 5,800 mAh, which was already impressive.

For reference, the Oppo Find X7 lineup is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. So, the next-gen models will bring a massive upgrade in terms of cell density. Furthermore, sources claim that the new battery won’t significantly increase the thickness of the new devices. But what has changed in just one year for such a large growth in battery capacity? The answer lies in the “Glacier” technology.

In June, OnePlus announced the Glacier battery technology. Despite being publicly presented by OnePlus, the Glacier battery technology is actually a development by BBK Electronics, making it accessible to all its brands. The Glacier technology enables very high-density batteries in a much smaller physical space compared to traditional batteries. The company claims that it can now fit batteries of around 6,000 mAh in the same space where they previously used 5,000 mAh cells.

Recent certifications revealed that the OnePlus 13 will also come with a battery of around 6,000 mAh. OnePlus has even surpassed that barrier by packing an impressive 6,100 mAh battery into the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Glacier technology promises that the cell will retain at least 80% of its capacity after four years of use with daily charges. Considering the capacities that Glacier batteries can handle, you’d still have a phone with around 5,000 mAh after years of use, which is amazing.
