Vivo announced three Vivo X200 smartphones today, the Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro mini. We’ll cover the ‘Pro’ models in separate articles, and in this one, we’ll focus on the vanilla unit, the Vivo X200.

The Vivo X200 is official, and it’s fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC

Much like its siblings, this smartphone is fueled by the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. That is MediaTek’s new flagship chip which was announced earlier this month.

The phone itself is made out of metal and glass, and it has a ‘Quad Curved Screen’, or micro-curved, as most of you know it by. It’s basically a flat display that is curved on its very edges. It feels like a flat screen when you use it, as the curve is under a 90-degree angle.

That display measures 6.67 inches, and offers a resolution of 2800 x 1260. That is an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, by the way. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here.

Its frame is flat all around, while its back side also features the same quad-curved aesthetic as its display. It’s proportional. All of its physical buttons are located on the right-hand side, and there’s a camera oreo on the back inside of which you’ll find the phone’s main cameras.

It has three rear cameras, backed by ZEISS, and supports 90W charging

A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.57 aperture, OIS) sits on the back, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.0 aperture). A 50-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.57 aperture) is also included with 3x optical zoom, and 100x digital zoom.

A 5,800mAh battery is included on the inside of the Vivo X200. 90W wired charging is supported, wireless charging is not, however. An optical in-display fingerprint scanner is included here.

OriginOS 5 comes pre-installed on this smartphone. Globally, the Vivo X200 series smartphones will come with Funtouch 15 OS, which will be based on Android 15. The phone is IP68/IP69 certified for water and dust resistance. Bluetooth 5.4 is also on offer.

Four color variants have been announced

The Vivo X200 comes in four colors, Carbon Black, Moonlight White, Sapphire Blue, and Titanium Gray. The ‘Sapphire Blue’ color that you’ve seen in leaks “incorporates the patterns of ocean waves”, says Vivo. It really does look unique in some lighting conditions.

This model comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. The 12GB RAM models are available in 256GB and 512GB storage options, and they’re priced at CNY4,299 ($606) and CNY4,699 ($747) in China. The 16GB RAM models come in 512GB and 1TB storage options. Those two cost CNY4,999 ($705) and CNY5,499 ($776) in China. It remains to be seen whether this model (the Vivo X200 in general) will be available globally and how much will it cost.
