The Adam Audio H200 is a promising new closed-back headphone design for music production and mixing from the renowned monitor manufacturer.
Although Adam Audio is not a specialist headphones brand per se, they certainly understand the demands of artists, producers, and engineers through the many years of manufacturing professional studio monitors.
Adam Audio H200
Designed at Adam Audio’s R&D center in Berlin, the H200 is a closed-back design with premium 40mm PEEK drivers. Overall, they have been created to be both comfortable and sustainable headphones with components that are easily replaceable.
In addition, the soft acoustic earpads provide excellent isolation. This will minimize headphone spill while tracking vocals, and you can get busy on your latest productions while the rest of the house is sleeping peacefully.
Without a doubt, one of the most exciting features is the included headphone calibration plug-in designed in collaboration with Sonnox. Like the Adam Audio A Series and S Series studio monitors, the plug-in gives you different voicing options for the H200 headphones.
There are two voicing modes including Pure, which is a flat analytical mode, and UNR (Uniform Natural Response™) which is Adam Audio’s unique setting created for music production and songwriting purposes.
Furthermore, the plug-in has a specialized Externalization feature. This functions in a similar way to the SPL Phonitor headphone preamp, as it uses crossfeed processing to make a seamless transition between headphones and studio monitors.
