Twice before the start of the 2024 football season, it was the New Orleans Saints whose offense looked nearly impossible after back-to-back wins over the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys, in which they scored a combined 91 points.
Unfortunately, this offensive dominance in the first two weeks of the season continued for a bit, so the Saints came back down to earth in Week 3, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles and scoring just 12 points.
In Week 4, the Saints expected to get back on the road against their rival Atlanta Falcons, who looked like a formidable opponent after facing three straight tough times: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
Having the Saints in India and bringing back Kirk Cousins and company on Sunday, a fumbled punt early in the game that led to a Falcons touchdown, could have been another matter.
Now the NFL has shown how it went wrong for the Saints.

Ultimately, the Falcons would win this game against their division rivals by two points, which shows just how costly that shot was.
With the loss, the Saints are now 2-2 on the season, with a streak of two straight losses coming into Week 5.
Only time will tell if Saints will be able to turn things around after such a promising start.
