The lives of children in the UK are about to change.

But why does this happen to our children? This increase in child poverty represents a change that has not been verified to the same extent anywhere else in the world, of all the places the United Nations measures it in the same way.

This drawing tells a story of hope and success. In much of Eastern Europe, child poverty has fallen by a third – and often at least a quarter – in just seven years.

For many people outside the UK, this will come as a surprise. Some will refuse to prove that this could be the same.
As evidenced by this poverty, there has been no decline in the height of five-year-old children since 2010.

To try to understand more about childhood life in the UK, I built a Seven typical children. Divide all 14 million children living in the UK into seven groups of 2 million each, according to your household income in 2018 and 2019. And collect half of every two million. Next, I analyzed what happened with these families between 2018 and 2024.

But two of our seven children live in a family that pays for annual holidays. This is rare among 2,000 people from wealthier families, but it is possible.
In 2024, the UK will show the world what it means to live with high levels of inequality in a previously wealthy country. This means that some people use many more resources than other children, such as access to more teachers – for children – than the rest, better food, better shelter, more heat, more jumps, better materials; Many times more than you can imagine any child would need.
