Brett Favre shared on Day 3 that he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, revealing his condition to a congressional audience in Washington.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback spoke about his case during a meeting of the Chamber's Forms and Means Committee regarding allegations of improper use of taxpayer funds, NBC News reported.
The Hall of Fame member is accused of using his political connections to redirect welfare funds intended for Mississippi families to projects he favors.
“Unfortunately, I also lost an investment in a company that had proven to be developing an innovative medicine for problems that I thought would help others, and I’m sure you’ll understand why it’s too late for me, because I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s,” Favre said in his opening remarks. She was referring to the pharmaceutical company Prevacus, whose founder, Jacob Vanlandingham, pleaded guilty to wire fraud this summer, admitting that he used Mississippi welfare funds to pay for gambling and extra cash.
Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that can cause rigidity, tremors, and uncontrolled movements.
