The rapper's Yeezy partnership with The Gap began in 2020, with the duo agreeing to sell Yeezy clothing in the company's stores around the world, but they agreed to fail in 2022.
At the time, Yeezy claimed that The Gap hadn’t followed the terms of the agreement, but Art City Center had a different problem. The company noted that the property earmarked for the partnership had gone through several “significant modifications” and had “not been approved.”

However, Ye's team issued a cease-and-desist letter to the sale organizers, accusing them of forging receipts showing the years of police. Yiannopoulos insisted that he never agreed to sell his clothes in bulk.
He also noted that there was no record of a large sale in his records. Yiannopoulos insisted that the organizers wear the costumes, and said that Ye’s team would file a formal report with the police about the alleged theft.
