The Fender Mustang Micro Plus builds on an already impressive headphone amp. New features include a built-in display and 2 extra hours of battery life. Let’s see what else it has to offer.
Fender Mustang Micro Plus
Way back in 2021 when the world was slowly emerging from a global lockdown, Fender released the Mustang Micro. However, back then, bedroom jams were all the rage. What do players get with this new model?
The main upgrades and benefits are 25 amp models and 25 effect modes. Which is double what the previous version had. Moreover, each of those 25 effects can be adjusted via a ‘Modify‘ button to switch up the parameters, making you feel as though the amp is in the room with you.
Cool Features Built-in
Players will welcome a built-in tuner and display. Compared with the old model, you’ll be able to see which amp and effect you’re using rather than by guessing the sound.
Other in-house features include Bluetooth connectivity for audio streaming and video synchronisation in real time. This is a really useful feature for if you want to jam along to your favourite tracks.
We’ve got a typical headphone jack for listening to those sweet Fender tones, along with a USB-C port for charging and recording. Therefore you can hook this straight up to your interface and lay down some lead parts.
These personal headphone amps are a competitive market. With likes of the Katana GO also being available. However, it looks like this new Micro Plus will be able to stand its ground.
Pricing and Availability
The Fender Mustang Micro Plus is currently available from *Thomann. For me, the best part is that it offers so much more than the predecessor, and isn’t that much more expensive. Well played Fender.
