Suonobuono Polyvera is a new polyponic desktop synth that will be revealed at the upcoming Roma Modulare show in Italy later this month. While the developer has yet to share the details, we can already make a few guesses based on the teaser image and video. What will Polyvera have to offer?

Suonobuono, an Italian-born developer living and working in Sweden, made a name for himself with devices like the nABC sidechain compressor and the Lazer gesture controller. For Roma Modulare, he has now announced a much bigger project. While we don’t know much about Polyvera yet, the only image available so far does reveal a few details.

More Information

It looks like the synth will offer two oscillators per voice. Judging by the teaser video, I assume they’re digital, but let’s wait for the full details before jumping to conclusions. In addition, there seems to be a sample-based sound source of some sort, although we don’t yet know what it’ll be capable of.

The filter section has knobs for filter type, cutoff, resonance, and FM. There’s also a drive knob, as well as key tracking and two modulation sources.

For modulation, Polyvera seems to be equipped with three ADSR envelopes. Moreover, the “LFO3” LED suggests that there are at least three LFOs sharing a common set of controls.

In addition to this, the synth offers an arpeggiator and sequencer, as well as two effects processors.

I think the sounds in the short teaser video are quite lovely. Stay tuned as we’ll find out morewhen Roma Modulare opens its doors on September 27, 2024.
