Ryan Reynolds says it's time the Academy added a Best Team Double Oscar — only to re-establish a large bank of industry veterans by making the year's biggest living movie, “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
“My dubbing is not an Oscars thing and I hope that changes someday,” Reynolds said in a lengthy social media post in the fourth quarter. “There are going to be a lot of movies being broken this year. Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Chaplin are stuntmen and filmmakers too. Storytelling is a whole body.”
That's when he paid special attention to the team in the MCU's first censored year jump, saying they “give a lot” and jumping that he'll “spend the rest of the other two days writing their names on my writing pad,” referring to “all of them” with little hearts.
“I worked with Alex Kishkovich on the first Deadpool movie,” said Reynolds, who starred in, co-produced and co-shot the film. “He’s not just harassing me, he’s the fight coordinator. He punched Alex in the face. I better have Alex slap Alex in the face.”
He continued: “Second Unit Director/Dub Supervisor Coordinator George Cottle is a huge GET. I saw his genius in Homem-Aranha: No Way Home as well as a lot of other fun stuff. His skills are world class and he’s the best full-length movie. “I would love for Alex to hit a rusty hook into George’s sights.”

My stunt work is not in the Oscars category and I hope that changes one day. There are a lot of films that will sweep this year. Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Chaplin are stuntmen who are also filmmakers. Storytelling as a whole.

The actor also praised his co-star Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the X-Men film series for 24 years and is known for performing many of his own stunts, something Reynolds described as “incomprehensible.”
“It’s impressive what Hugh Jackman himself does, but Daniel Stevens gets into some really serious stuff. Wolverining has been around for a long time,” Reynolds said. “As we know, Wolverining is tough. I would have Alex eat the carangogo salt that left Dan painless for three days straight. “And a big thank you to Andy Lister for designing some crazy new Wolvie gear to fight the Deadpool Corps, too.”
Reynolds concluded his call to arms by saying:
“If you want to see Academia recreate the amazing work that dublês teams have done across the industry, tell them!” he shouted.
The Deadpool star isn't the only Ryan this year to put his massive star power behind a grassroots effort to win an Oscar for stunt work. A big part of Ryan Gosling's journalistic role in “The Fall Guy” revolves around his advocacy efforts.
“This is clearly a love letter to the Dublin community, who are the hardest working people in the non-show business,” Gosling said. The film premiered in April.“They've come more than anything else. This movie is just a giant campaign to get Dublês Oscar.
