WoW players on GeForce NOW will get mod support

It’s a big week for NVIDIA GeForce NOW subscribers who use the service to play WoW as support for mods is being implemented. NVIDIA brought World of Warcraft to the service a few months ago. The game officially became streamable in the cloud back at the end of May. This included access to both the modern and classic versions of the game. However, one thing it did not include was mod support.

Mods for WoW are a huge part of the game. Those who play the game locally on their PC know well just how important they can be to the gameplay experience. Not everyone uses mods. However, a large portion of the player base does. With WoW mods coming to GeForce NOW this week, players who stream the game in the cloud will be able to play with several add-ons. Of course, it is a new week and that means new games are being added to GeForce NOW as well.

GeForce NOW will support WoW mods via Curseforge

If you’ve ever used Curseforge to install add-ons for WoW in the past, then you probably know that there are hundreds of add-ons. It’s important to temper expectations, so to be clear, GeForce NOW will not get access to every single mod that you can find on Curseforge. Rather, NVIDIA says the top 25+ add-ons will be available. There are two that are explicitly not supported on GeForce NOW and those are SimulationCraft and TradeSkillMaster.

You can check out a list of the top Curseforge add-ons here. With that in mind, NVIDIA doesn’t specifically say which add-ons are supported. It merely says “the top 25+ add-ons.” No doubt some of the most popular such as Deadly Boss Mods, Auctionator, TomTom, HandyNotes, and BigWigs will be among those that work. NVIDIA also confirms that it will be monitoring add-ons and that it will try to add more over time. So if the one you use isn’t supported right now, it might be in the near future.

Five new games are being added to GeForce NOW this week

Whether you’re a WoW player or not, or if you want something new to play on GeForce NOW this week, NVIDIA has you covered. This week sees five new games being added to the list. This includes Psychonauts and Psychonauts 2, Level Zero: Extraction, Shapez 2, and Car Manufacture. All five new games are available on Steam and this is the version that’s playable via GeForce NOW. Additionally, Psychonauts 2 will be playable on GeForce NOW through Xbox copy if you bought it through the Xbox Store.

With GeForce NOW supporting over 2,000 games, it’s a good time to check it out. If you don’t already have a subscription, the summer sale is still going on. You can save 50% on Priority and Ultimate memberships while this is active. So take advantage of it while you can.
