Google Pixel Watch 3 LTE buyers can get 2 years of free data

Google is offering something pretty magical if you buy a Google Pixel Watch 3 LTE version with a promotion that sees you get free data for the watch for 2 whole years. It’s an offer that seems to have gone somewhat unnoticed. That’s not surprising since Google doesn’t appear to be advertising it very heavily. The only official mention of the promotion we could find from Google was directly on the Google Store page. Even then, the offer is relegated to a small blurb further down the pre-order page.

If you happened to miss this offer, it’s worth considering should you be looking to buy the Pixel Watch 3. Because the LTE model gives you a little more freedom if you don’t like to always carry your phone with you.

The Google Pixel Watch 3 LTE data offer is for non-Google Fi customers

If you’re a Google Fi customer, then you might be wondering if you really need to redeem this offer. The answer to that question is no. This is because Google Fi plans come with free smartwatch connectivity if you have any of the Pixel Watch models in the LTE version. This offer is intended for anyone not using Google Fi as their wireless carrier for smartphone service. And that makes it a lot more enticing, to be honest.

Setting up an LTE smartwatch generally requires adding a new line of service to your plan. Most carriers do this. So Google’s offer of free data for 2 years means you get at least that much time where you won’t need to consider adding a line. And by the end of that 2 years, you may be moving to a new watch. On top of that, you may decide that you don’t need an LTE version of a smartwatch. With this in mind, this is much more of a reason to consider pre-ordering the Pixel Watch 3 LTE model over anything else.

The offer is only available in the US

Per Google’s terms, it looks like this offer is limited to consumers in the US. So you can’t redeem the free 2 years of data if you live in another country. You also have to purchase the Pixel Watch 3 LTE model from the Google Store online or one of the physical Google Store locations.

This could be a promotion Google is hoping will convince people to switch to Google Fi. Even if you never plan to do that, this is an offer you may not want to pass up. It also doesn’t look like there’s any end date to this offer for now. As Google simply says that “Google Pixel Watch 3 LTE purchased in the United States on Google Store online or in-store from August 13, 2024 or later are eligible to redeem 2 years of data and texting service.”
