These Harley Benton DC-Custom II models are available in regular six-string and 612 double-neck versions. They offer guitarists classic double-cut designs at great price points.
Harley Benton DC-Custom II
Harley Benton’s DC-Custom II is offered in Cherry and White finishes, both classic colours for this double-cut body shape.
They feature a meranti body, a set C-shape neck, and a roasted jatoba fretboard with trapezoid inlays. With a set of 24 medium jumbo Blacksmith stainless steel frets, these guitars should play well.
Alnico-5
The humbucking pickups are a pair of Tesla TM VR-Nitro Alnico-5 models, wired via a three-way selector switch, a single volume, and tone control.
Key features include a graphite IV nut, DLX gold (White) or chrome (Cherry) hardware, DLX Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a set of Grover tuners, which should add up to exceptional tuning stability.
DC-Custom II 612
The DC-Custom II 612 model is ‘double trouble’ and features a 6-string and 12-string neck. It is essentially the exact construction and hardware as the DC-Custom II model above, with two necks and a slightly different pickup combination. A 42mm nut width (6-string) and 48mm nut width (12-string) should also make this model very comfortable to play.
Dual Controls
This double-neck model uses the Tesla TM VR-60 Classic alnico-5 pickups to power the 6-string, while the 12-string gets a set of Tesla Opus-G1 alnico-5 pickups.
Because there are two sets of pickups, it has two extra three-way pickup selector switches to accommodate these extra settings
The price also includes a case, which is perfect because cases can be awkward to source for double-neck guitars. This is a great way to get you there if you want to emulate Jimmy Page but cannot stretch to limited Gibson recreations.
