Applebox Asia has welcomed back Director Marco Kalantari to their roster for exclusive representation in Singapore.

Kalantari, who is based in Tokyo, has been working with Applebox Asia since 2005, establishing a long history of collaboration. Known for his ability to combine breathtaking, cinematic action sequences with compelling storytelling, he has solidified his reputation as a master of his craft.

A self-proclaimed eccentric filmmaker, he began his international career by winning a Silver Lion at Cannes in 2003 for his TVC promoting “Medecins Sans Frontieres.” Within a year, he became one of the most sought-after directors in the Indian TVC market and quickly gained recognition throughout Asia, including China, South-East Asia, Hong Kong, and Japan.

In 2015 he released his short film THE SHAMAN, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and became a great critical success. It travelled to numerous film festivals around the globe. The trailer garnered over 6.3 million views.

“Beyond his obvious talents, he’s a truly humble individual and a true Appleboxer. It is wonderful to have this old friend return to the team,” says Founder and Executive Producer PT Khoo.
