Motorola‘s Razr 50 Ultra foldable will look identical to its predecessor, leaked live images reveal. The images allegedly come from a certification listing, so they are probably accurate. The device may launch soon, though we don’t have a date yet.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra live images leaked ahead of launch
Motorola launched two clamshell foldable smartphones last year. The Razr 40 Ultra, aka Razr+, is its flagship offering. It features a large cover display with two rear cameras and an LED flash unit sitting horizontally on the top left corner. The bottom half has the iconic Moto batwing logo and the Razr branding. On the front, we get a large punch-hole display with rubber bumpers around it for added protection.
In January, a leaked render of the Razr 50 Ultra suggested it would sport the same design as its predecessor. The same has been confirmed through live images recently published by a certification agency. Spotted by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore and shared with 91Mobiles, we have two photos of the phone showing its front and back. The listing also reveals a few additional details.
According to the publication, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will bear the model number XT-24510-3. It may be one of the regional/carrier variants the company is working on. Previous certification listings showed the model number XT2453-1. The new report also confirms a 12GB+512GB storage configuration for the phone. It remains to be seen if Motorola upgrades to the UFS 4.0 storage standard.
The images we have today are quite blurry, but it appears the power button, which resides on the right side along with the volume key, is recessed. This suggests the Razr 50 Ultra will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Motorola also appears to have shrunk the hinge a little, though it may only be an aesthetic change on the outside. We should get a clearer picture in the coming weeks.
The new Motorola foldable may not be too far off
The upcoming Razr foldable is expected to be available in Blue, Orange, and Green colors. Its specs are mostly under the wraps but it shouldn’t be long before the floodgates open. Last year’s model debuted in June, so it is almost time Motorola presents its latest foldable. Samsung, whose Flip series is a direct competitor to the Razr lineup, will unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in July. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will also debut on the same day.
