MURIEL WILKINS: Have you ever accepted a new opportunity but yearn to get back to doing what you really love and what you think you really excel at?
SPEAKER 2: I’d like to get back to what I consider the role where I shine the most, and also the role that brings me the most happiness. I’m very clear on why that role is so attractive to me or why I enjoy it so much. It’s because it’s one that you never master. I’m used to aiming for a target, delivering and then looking for the next challenge.
MURIEL WILKINS: Have you ever felt like you should be getting more done but are already putting in so much work?
SPEAKER 3: It’s like, okay, yeah, I know I can move the needle, I can chalk up some wins, I can help people grow, I can get some things done, but at the end of the day and at the end of the month and at the end of the quarter and at the end of the year, there’s got to be something left.
MURIEL WILKINS: Have you ever experienced burnout and hope to avoid dealing with it again when you take on a new role?
SPEAKER 4: I love work. I love working. I love the satisfaction of working. So, I was very intentional about I want my next job to be smaller. I intentionally took an individual contributor role in a capacity that I think I can bring a lot of value. So now, as I start my new job in a few days and as I look ahead, I am asking myself the question: how do you stay out of burnout this time?
MURIEL WILKINS: I’m leadership coach Muriel Wilkins, and I’m so excited to share that a new season of Coaching Real Leaders is just around the corner. Join me as they coach leaders from around the world, from different industries and at different career levels, but all with one thing in common: they feel stuck with a professional challenge they’re facing. My job is to help them get unstuck. Let’s peel back the curtain on executive coaching and learn how you can apply these leadership lessons to your own career.
