Galaxy S25 Ultra case leak reveals wireless charging details

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is no doubt going to support wireless charging, but it isn’t yet confirmed what that support looks like. Specifically with regard to the charging speed and the kind of wireless charging technology. That being said, a leaked image of a Galaxy S25 Ultra case may reveal that information to some degree.

A recently posted image from Jukanlosreve on X shows an upcoming case from Spigen for Samsung’s next top-tier flagship. It’s called the ‘Liquid Crystal’ case, and it has a key feature that basically reveals details about what kind of wireless charging support Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series will have.

Spoiler alert, it probably isn’t going to be Qi2, not natively at least. There’s a reason for this based on this case leak, as well.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra may not natively support Qi2 wireless charging because it has no built-in magnets

Keep in mind that this is not confirmed by Samsung, but according to Jukanlosreve’s image leak, the Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t have built-in magnets for a magnetic power profile. Previous rumors have already suggested this. The case from Spigen seems to unofficially confirm it. The case itself has what seems like a circular magnet for wireless charging. This would allow the Galaxy S25 Ultra to attach to magnetic wireless charging pads.

In the same image, the case’s box has a tiny label on it that says MagFit for MagSafe. If the Galaxy S25 Ultra had a magnetic power profile with built-in magnets, this case wouldn’t need the MagFit tech. As Phone Arena points out, native Qi2 support requires the phone to have those built-in magnets. So it’s reasonable to assume that Qi2 wireless charging isn’t supported without a magnetic case.

How fast will the wireless charging be?

That’s tough to say at the moment, but there have been rumors surrounding this point already. Some say that it will be up to 25W, but it’s unclear how Samsung might make that possible without the built-in magnets. This also isn’t the first leak that’s popped up suggesting the Galaxy S25 series won’t have native Qi2 support. A post from earlier this week mentioned the use of a magnet case to support the Qi2 standard. That means it wouldn’t be native. And this leak from Jukanlosreve seems to support that rumor.

Another post says Samsung will have multiple magnetic accessories for the Galaxy S25 series. So it seems Samsung will offer its own accessories to consumers as well.
