It seems like OnePlus could soon announce another Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone, bringing a bit of confusion to the table. Brace yourselves, as we’ll talk about three phones here, and one of them has a different name depending on the market.
OnePlus could actually announce another Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone, and soon
So, the device in question here is the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro, which is expected to land in China soon. That device appeared on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Needless to say, that’s a bit odd.
Why? Well, the OnePlus 13 launched recently in China, and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. We were expecting the OnePlus Ace 5, which will be called the OnePlus 13R globally, but that phone will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
We did know that the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is coming, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite detail is new. So, that phone will, presumably, sit somewhere between the OnePlus Ace 5 and OnePlus 13 in terms of specs, features, and price.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is not expected to get a global variant
Do note that we do not expect the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro to arrive to global markets. The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R will launch globally next month, but that’s about it.
If we had to guess, we’d say that the only difference between the OnePlus Ace 5 and the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro will be that chip, but who knows? We’re only guessing here, OnePlus could still surprise us.
This phone appeared on Geekbench with the PKR110 model number, and it scored 928 points in the single-core, and 2,988 points in the multi-core test. It includes 16GB of RAM, while Android 15 comes pre-installed on it.
We still don’t know the launch date for the OnePlus Ace 5 series in China. The launch date for the global OnePlus 13 series is also unknown. Stay tuned, though, because both will be announced in the near future.
