OPPO Find X8 Pro vs Huawei Pura 70 Ultra: Design

There are some similarities between these two smartphones as far as the design is concerned. They have similar corner curvature, while both phones have a centered display camera hole up top. Both of them also have quad micro-curved displays, in other words, the displays are not curved, but the glass on top of them is, on all four sides. The backplate is proportional to the front on both smartphones.

Speaking of which, not both phones have glass on the back. The Find X8 Pro does, Gorilla Glass 7i, while the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has a silicone polymer back aka vegan leather. That makes Huawei’s flagship far more grippy in the hand, actually. The OPPO Find X8 Pro has a flatter frame than the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, but it’s far from being flat like on some other smartphones.

Both phones have very thin bezels around the display, while those bezels are also uniform, by the way. The power/lock and volume rocker buttons sit on the right-hand side of both phones. The OPPO Find X8 Pro also has a camera shutter key on the right and an alert slider on the left side. The OPPO Find X8 Pro includes a camera oreo on the back, with four cameras on the inside. The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra also has a larger camera setup, with three cameras, but it’s not round, and it has a different placement. It’s placed in the top-left corner rather than the top middle part.

Both of these smartphones are IP68 certified, while the Find X8 Pro also comes with an IP69 certification. As already mentioned, the OPPO Find X8 Pro is more slippery in comparison. The two phones are almost identical in terms of height and width, while the Find X8 Pro is a bit wider. It is also a bit lighter, 11 grams lighter, to be exact.

Both of these displays are great, actually. They’re bright, vivid, and have great viewing angles. Both displays also come with high-frequency PWM dimming, and the blacks are as deep as you’d think considering these are OLED panels. Both displays are also very sharp and have thin bezels around them. The panel on the OPPO Find X8 Pro does get a bit brighter, though, even though both get bright enough.

With that being said, yes, the OPPO Find X8 Pro does come with a more powerful processor. That chip is newer and more power-efficient too. The thing is, both smarpthones perform admirably, and you wouldn’t really know that the Find X8 Pro has a more powerful SoC based on day-to-day performance. Everything runs smoothly, and the two phones also do a great job with multitasking.

Where you will start noticing differences is in the gaming department. The OPPO Find X8 Pro can run the most demanding games without a problem. The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is cut off from quite a number of the most-demanding games due to lack of Google services, so that’s also something to keep in mind. The ones that are available via AppGallery run great, but just note that you may have mixed results when sideloading.

We also preferred the colors the Find X8 Pro provided.
