The global Huawei Mate X6 variant is on its way, as the company just confirmed its launch date. Huawei announced its December 12 event in Dubai.

Huawei will announce the global Mate X6 model soon, as the launch date has been announced

In the teaser image that is shown above, the company clearly confirmed that the Mate X6 coming. The teaser says ‘Flagship Product Launch’ with the hashtag ‘UnfoldtheClassic’. That directly confirms that the Mate X6 is on the way.

The Huawei Mate X6 launched in China last month, alongside the Huawei Mate 70 series. Well, it’s now coming to global markets, but we’re not sure about the Mate 70 series. Nothing related to those phones was mentioned in Huawei’s teaser.

It’s possible that the Mate 70 phones will remain exclusive to China, we’ll have to wait and see. If we had to guess, however, the MatePad 13.2 and the FreeBuds Pro 4 will likely be included in the event.

In regards to the Huawei Mate X6, it will be interesting to see what software will it rock. Huawei announced its Android-free HarmonyOS NEXT software for the Chinese market. That software comes pre-installed on this phone.

The global variant of the device could ship with Android, unlike the Chinese model

Huawei could include regular HarmonyOS on the global model, however. Why? Well, because it’s based on Android. It wouldn’t be a huge change for Huawei’s users overseas, and not enough global apps are ready for HarmonyOS NEXT.

So, if I had to guess, I’d say that HarmonyOS is coming. The Mate X6 is thinner than its predecessor, and it has larger displays too. It also includes a rather compelling camera setup on the back.

This phone supports 66W wired, 50W wireless, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. In China, it launched in Black, Gray, Red, Sea Blue, and White colors. Not all of them will become available in global markets, though.
