Sometimes, leaks about new products or developments come from the most unexpected sources. There have been multiple cases where a company’s oversight reveals devices or software they’re working on. That seems to have happened recently with Samsung, whose official website briefly shared some of the new features of One UI 7.
As spotted by tipster Chunvn8888 on X/Twitter, Samsung Spain’s regional website enabled the One UI 7 page early. The site showcased several new features and confirmed when you will have to pay to use the Galaxy AI suite. The company has already removed the One UI 7 page, confirming its accidental activation. The link now redirects to the main page of Samsung’s website.
A look at the new One UI 7 design and animations
Like its predecessor, One UI 7 will have a strong focus on the company’s AI-powered features. The website also mentioned that the update will bring a “sophisticated new look,” referencing the notable leaked changes to the UI and animations. Design-wise, a short video shows an overview of One UI 7. You can see the new icons, refined animations, and iOS-like “Live Activities” notifications at the bottom of the lock screen. New separate panels for notifications and quick settings also make an appearance.

AI-powered features will be key in Samsung’s One UI 7
Another video (via Android Authority) highlights the capabilities of Sketch to Image. As its name suggests, the feature draws on the power of artificial intelligence to transform sketches into complex artwork. It’s noteworthy that the feature is already available on some Galaxy devices. However, One UI 7 will bring new style options including 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor.
There are also Portrait Studio and Live Effects among the AI-powered features. Portrait Studio will turn your portraits into artistic images, allowing you to choose between styles like comics, 3D cartoons, and sketches. Meanwhile, Live Effects can add depth and perspective to your photos. The video confirms that these features work purely in the cloud, requiring an internet connection and a Samsung account. Images will have a 9MP resolution and a watermark.
The page highlights other existing Galaxy AI features. The list includes Circle to Search, Live Translate, and AI Zoom. There are no details on whether these features will be improved in One UI 7. Samsung has also highlighted the Energy Score feature, which is available on Galaxy Watches running One UI 6.
One UI 7 will bring new safety features to the Galaxy Store focused on children. For example, they will need permission from their parents or guardians to download apps or make purchases.
Galaxy AI will be free until the end of 2025
For a while now, we’ve known that Galaxy AI, similar to AI features from other brands, will require payment in the future. Well, the Samsung website confirmed that Galaxy device users will be able to use the advanced AI-powered features without paying until the end of 2025. However, there are still no details on how much it will cost to keep them in the future.
Lastly, Galaxy AI features will start rolling out to select devices sometime in Q4 2024. We assume Samsung is referring to the One UI 7 public beta that will be available in the coming weeks. The list of phones includes the Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy S23 Series, Galaxy S22 Series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Tab S8 series.
