In addition to announcing the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, the company also announced HyperOS 2. That is the second big version of Xiaomi’s new skin, after MIUI got rebranded.
Xiaomi has announced HyperOS 2, a new version of its Android skin
This is the initial announcement of HyperOS 2, as it will be reintroduced once the Xiaomi 15 series goes global. With that being said, Xiaomi focused on three “core technological innovations” with this update. Namely HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI.
The company said that together, these three “core technological innovations” are expected to offer “fresh, advanced experience in fundamental functionality, cross-device smart connectivity, and AI interactions”.
Needless to say, it’s AI-focused and brings various optimizations to the table
It’s truly unsurprising that everything is AI-focused these days, and the same goes for the new version of HyperOS. AI is the buzzword that companies love to use these days.
Xiaomi did introduce a new I/O resource management, and a redone rendering pipeline, not to mention improved memory handling. A new lock screen is here, and Xiaomi refers to it as a “movie-like” lock screen. AI-generated dynamic wallpapers are included, while “visual upgrades and customized content” is also a part of the package. The company also improved the widgets and animations.
Cross-device clipboard is now a part of the offering too, and the same goes for cross-device video recording. Alright, let’s talk about specific AI features that Xiaomi mentioned during the announcement.
AI Magic Painting, AI Voice Recognization, and various other AI tools have been added
The company announced the so-called ‘AI Magic Painting’. This basically means that the phone can turn your sketches into images, kind of. The ‘AI Voice Recognition’ feature can provide real-time text conversion during recording and automatic summarization too.
‘AI Writing’ tools are also included, tools like text generation, summarization, error correction, and so on. ‘AI Translation’ is also a part of this update, and you can use it for meetings, calls, and so on. The company also announced ‘AI Anti-Fraud’ for fraudulent calls.
It’s unlikely that all of these features will make their way to the global version
We’re not sure how many of these features will make their way to the global version of HyperOS. Some of the AI features could be omitted, but the lock screen changes and general optimizations will likely be included.
We still don’t know when will Xiaomi launch its new smartphone(s) and Android skin globally, stay tuned.
