HONOR has just announced the Magic7 series smartphones in China. The global launch of the Magic7 series will follow later on, we’re still not sure when. In this article, we’ll focus on the ‘Pro’ variant of the device.
The Magic7 Pro is made out of metal and glass. HONOR opted for a flat display this time around. There is also a pill-shaped cutout at the top of it. Advanced facial scanning is supported here, and HONOR also offers Dynamic Island-esque software features.
The HONOR Magic7 Pro is packed with AI features and fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite
The company says that it’s “committed to delivering the most intuitive AI smartphone experience for users” and that these phones come “with a range of AI-enhanced features, bringing groundbreaking advancements on photography capabilities, display, and hardware performance”.
The HONOR Magic7 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The HONOR C2 communication chip is also included, and the device comes in 12GB and 16GB RAM flavors, both use LPDDR5X RAM. The 12GB RAM model comes with 256GB of storage, while the 16GB RAM model is available in both 512GB and 1TB flavors. UFS 4.0 flash storage is on offer, by the way.
The Magic7 Pro features a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 50-megapixel main camera. A 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is also included, as is a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.
HONOR is using a 1/1.3-inch Super Dynamic HONOR Falcon Camera H9000 HDR sensor here with a huge f/1.4 adjustable aperture lens. HONOR says that the main camera “captures intricate details and enhanced brightness across various lighting situations”.
HONOR made a huge improvement to the periscope telephoto camera
That 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, on the other hand, has “the industry’s largest” 1/1.4-inch sensor. The HONOR Magic7 Pro is also enhanced by the HONOR Image Engine 3.0. That engine adds portrait refinement, light and shadow enhancement, snapshot enhancement, and telephoto optimization.
A 5,850mAh battery sits inside the HONOR Magic7 Pro. That is the company’s third-gen silicon-carbon battery. HONOR promises that this phone will showcase “unparalleled battery performance”. For that purpose, the HONOR E2 4-in-1 Power Enhance Chip is also included.
100W wired & 80W wireless charging is supported
What about charging? Well, 100W wired and 80W wireless HONOR SuperCharge charging is on offer. The phone’s audio was verified by SGS Five-star Audio Performance and has Spatial Audio certification.
A large 6.8-inch flat LTPO AMOLED display offers an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz. It has a resolution of 2800 x 1280. The peak brightness here is, in theory, 5,000 nits. This display also offers a range of “eye-comfort features aimed at promoting users’ vision health and comfort”. Those features are a Circular Polarized Display, which also has the HONOR AI Defocus tech. It offers high-frequency PWM dimming too, at 4,320Hz, and more. It is also TUV Rheinland Full Care Display 4.0 certified.
Android 15 comes out of the box with MagicOS 9.0 on top of it
Android 15 comes pre-installed on the phone with HONOR’s MagicOS 9.0 on top. This phone does support 5G connectivity, offers Bluetooth 5.4 support, and has a set of stereo speakers. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also included.
The HONOR Magic7 Pro’s pricing starts at CNY5,699 ($800) in China, though the price tags will be notably different globally. The phone comes in Moonlight (silver), Snow Domain White (white), Sky Blue (metallic blue) and Velvet Black (black) colors. It measures 162.7 x 77.1 x 8.8mm, and weighs 223 grams.
