Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date of the Xiaomi 15 series phones, and the HyperOS 2 skin. The two devices will become official on October 29, and they’ll launch in China first. The global event will follow later on.

As a reminder, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are coming as part of the launch. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will follow next year, it’s not expected to be featured during this month’s launch event.

The Xiaomi 15 & Xiaomi 15 Pro launch date is finally official

Xiaomi announced this launch date via its social media channels in China. The event will kick off at 7 PM China time, which translates to 1 PM CET / noon BST / 7 AM EST / 4 AM PST, in case you’re interested. Just do note that the event will be in Chinese.

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will become the first smartphones to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. That much was confirmed by both Xiaomi and Qualcomm at this point.

That processor was announced a couple of days ago during Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. It simply blows away all of the competition, in terms of sheer power, including Apple’s latest SoCs.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro will have a larger display than the vanilla model

The Xiaomi 15 is rumored to feature a 6.36-inch OLED display with a 1.2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel on the ‘Pro’ model will be considerably larger than that, and possibly a bit sharper too.

We are also expecting some differences in the camera setups on the two smartphones, which is what Xiaomi’s official images kind of confirm. You can also see that their sides will be flat in an image below. Leica will once again be a part of the package, though, and both phones are expected to have larger battery packs than last year.

Xiaomi also published official images of both smartphones, quite a few of them

Now, Xiaomi has also published some official images of both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, which you can check out below. They’ve been split in two different galleries. You’ll notice that the design won’t be all that different from what the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro delivered. Some different curves, and a redesigned camera island.

Android 15 will come pre-installed on both of them, along with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2. We don’t know much about the new version of Xiaomi’s Android skin, however. We’ll have to wait for the launch even itself to get the info.
