The OnePlus 13 is coming in a week. The phone will become official on October 31, in China. The global launch will follow later on. As we’re waiting for that to happen, the company actually unboxed the OnePlus 13 early, while some of its camera specs have also been confirmed.
OnePlus offiically unboxed the OnePlus 13 ahead of launch
Let’s talk about the unboxing first, though, shall we? If you check out the video embedded below, you’ll be able to see it. It has been reuploaded to YouTube, after being picked up from OnePlus’ social media in China.
This is an odd move by OnePlus, but the company is well-known for its interesting marketing moves. If you check out the video, you’ll notice that this phone runs ColorOS. That’s because it’s made for China. It will ship with OxygenOS globally.
OnePlus will once again use a red box with a familiar design. The phone’s display is flat this time around, as expected, and it seemingly has symmetrical bezels on all sides, but we cannot confirm that just yet.
We’ve already seen the device in official images, so there’s really not much to hide here. Still, this short video does give us another look at OnePlus’ upcoming flagship.
The phone’s camera info was also shared
Now, in addition to this video, the phone’s camera specs got shared. The OnePlus 13 will retain a triple camera setup, that’s something we already knew. What we also knew is that Hasselblad will be a part of the picture again.
OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will use the same algorithm as the OPPO Find X8 series. It will combine the light and shadow performance with detail capture, it is said.
The main camera on the phone will be a 50-megapixel LYT-808 unit. That is the same camera OnePlus used in the OnePlus 12. We were hoping to see the LYT-818, but that’s not happening. That camera will also offer OIS support.
OnePlus is replacing the 64-megapixel OV64B periscope telephoto camera, however. It will use a 50-megapixel 1/1.95-inch LYT-600 sensor. That camera will offer 3x optical zoom, an f/2.6 aperture, and OIS support.
The third camera on the back will be a 50-megapixel ISOCELL JN5 unit. That will be the phone’s ultrawide camera with a 120-degree FoV. Now, OnePlus says that the upgraded “multi-prism reflection structure” offers a more advanced and scientific optical patch design. It not only makes the periscope module size lighter and thinner, but OnePlus says it achieves faster focusing and a clearer picture.
