Samsung’s 990 Evo Plus SSD is already on sale

This week is Samsung week and as part of that, Samsung launched its new 990 Evo Plus SSD, and Amazon already has it on sale. That means you can pick it up for less than its launch price on Samsung. This is an incredible deal given that the SSD just launched. So if you’re in need of more storage on your PC, this is an excellent option. Normally the Samsung 990 Evo Plus in the 1TB model would cost you $109.99.

In fact, if you pick it up at Samsung right now, that’s what it’s going to cost you. However, you can snag it from Amazon instead and pay only $89.99. Seeing as this is a brand-new product, it’s the lowest price that we’ve tracked this SSD so far.

Now it is worth noting that this is for the 1TB model of the SSD, but Samsung does also make a 2TB model. That one is on sale as well and is down in price to $149.99 instead of $184.99. So you can save money on it either way. The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is very similar to one of my current favorite SSDs, the Samsung 990 Pro. The main difference is that the 990 Evo Plus isn’t really geared toward gaming, but it can still be used as an SSD for gaming thanks to the blazing-fast read and write speeds.

The sequential read speed is up to 7,250 MB/s and the sequential write speed is up to 6,300 MB/s. That’s going to go a long way to helping you load files a lot faster, as well as load games faster. Installations should happen quicker as well and transferring files around will get a nice little bump too.

These SSDs also have pretty good thermal control so you can rest assured the drive will operate at reasonable temperatures.
