Currently, there are a few pictures floating around on Chinese Social Media, apparently depicting the OnePlus 13 ahead of its announcement later this month. There’s also a picture of it next to the OPPO Find X8 Ultra. While these could be fake, they do look pretty legit, and similar to last year’s designs for both phones.
For the OnePlus 13, the camera module seems to be about the same, but instead of it melting into the side of the phone like the OnePlus 12 does, it’s totally separate. It’s still not centered, which might throw some people off. Especially since the OPPO Find X8 Ultra is centered, and looks more like the OnePlus Open from last year.
Based on these pictures, it appears that there will be at least two colors of the OnePlus 13, a white and a black color. For the OnePlus 12, the white color was limited to Europe only and didn’t make it Stateside. Instead, the US got an Emerald Green color, which could be coming again with the OnePlus 13. It also appears that OnePlus might finally drop the sandstone finish, the black color here looks more like a faux wood finish.
Interestingly, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra does have a gradient back color. Which looks really nice, especially with those flat sides.
OnePlus 13 set to launch after Snapdragon Summit
There are quite a few phones waiting in the wings to actually be announced. And right now, they are waiting for Qualcomm to officially announce its newest chipset that is powering these phones – which will happen next week. Recently, it’s been rumored – and Xiaomi even confirmed it in a teaser – that the new chipset will be called the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Which could mean a pretty big jump for this chipset.
The OnePlus 12 is still seen as the phone of the year for 2024, and we expect that to happen with the OnePlus 13 as well. OnePlus did a good job showing out and beating Samsung in many areas, including camera, display, and battery life. We’re expecting much the same in 2025.
