HONOR has just confirmed the launch dates for the HONOR Magic7 series, and the MagicOS 9.0 as well. What’s interesting is that the company confirmed two separate launch dates here.
The HONOR Magic7 series & MagicOS 9.0 launch dates have been announced
The HONOR Magic7 flagship smartphone lineup will become official on October 30. A new version of the company’s Android skin will launch a week before that, on October 23. And yes, it’s based on Android 15.
So, HONOR will first show us what it will have to offer on the software front, and then announce the devices themselves. This kind of makes sense. Launching them at the same time takes away the spotlight from the software upgrades.
Do note that this will be a China launch, however. Even though the HONOR Magic7 series devices are expected to arrive to global markets, they will first launch in China. That’s how HONOR does things, and it’s the same with almost all other major Chinese OEMs.
This event will be AI-focused too
HONOR is using the following caption for these launch events: “Witness the magic of AI”. That is not surprising as everything is AI-oriented these days, everyone is using it, that’s the current buzzword.
That’s not to say that MagicOS 9.0 won’t deliver many AI features and/or improvements, of course. HONOR did announce many of them with the MagicOS 8.0, so we’re expecting to see more with MagicOS 9.0.
What’s interesting here, however, is that both the HONOR Magic6 series and MagicOS 8.0 were announced in January this year. So HONOR is doing things a lot earlier this year. The company is presumably attempting to compete directly with the likes of Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, OPPO, and some other companies that are doing flagship launches in a short time span.
AI Agent will debut with the HONOR Magic7 series
We don’t know much about this launch event, but we do know that AI Agent feature will debut with the HONOR Magic7. That’s essentially a personal assistant that streamilines daily tasks.
Two smartphones are expected to launch, the HONOR Magic7 and HONOR Magic7 Pro. Not much information surfaced about either phone thus far, though. The ‘Pro’ variant is expected to include a pill-shaped cutout on the front, though.
