Six people, four adults and two youths, have been arrested in connection with a flash mob assault last weekend at Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park, which was captured on video, authorities announced Sunday.
Los Angeles Police Department authorities confirm that on October 4, 12 suspects attacked two store owners inside the shopping center in the 21700 block of Victory Boulevard around 5:15 p.m.
“We are afraid that wearing masks and hats with hoods will increase the security burden and destroy many items of clothing,” an LAPD press release said.
The thieves managed to escape with more than $90,000 US dollars from supermarkets, and the police were informed.
The LAPD's Organized Crime Task Force responds to the shopping mall and conducts an investigation. Working alongside two LAPD Topanga area officers, investigators will be able to quickly identify potential suspects involved in the crime and some of the two getaway vehicles used.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. that same night, police found and stopped two cars used to escape the building. All five occupants were arrested, with investigators saying the suspects were “identified as being present and actively involved in the robbery.”
Three adults and two minors were arrested and arrested for theft.
She was detained outside the jail just before midnight, when police from the Huntington Beach Police Department arrested a woman behind the wheel of another vehicle used to escape from “Red Lightning.”
“Inside the vehicle, HBPD located and recovered stolen items that ORCTF investigators verified as stolen during Operation Flash Robbery,” the release noted.
A woman was imprisoned and rescued by the Pence Robados.
Four adult specimens were identified as follows:
- Joshua Jones, a 22-year-old Los Angeles resident, has been arrested on bail of more than $1 million.
- Amaya McDonald, 19, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested on $15,000 bail.
- Justin Jones, an 18-year-old Los Angeles resident, was arrested on $150,000 bail.
- Ragin Robinson, 26, a Los Angeles resident, was arrested without bail
Police are still searching for the remaining six suspects.
