INDIANAPOLIS (AFP) – Hollywood star Keanu Reeves will begin his professional racing career on Saturday, in an event in which the “Matrix” star rode at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Reeves flipped onto the grass without a crash at Curva exit 9, shortly after the finish line in the 45-minute race. He entered again and continued directing, indicating that he was not injured.
Reeves, who qualified 31st in two 35 cars, moved to 21st and avoided a turn one collision at Turn 14. Reeves finished 25th.
Reeves, 60, is competing in Indianapolis in the Toyota GR Cup, a series of races for Toyota and a support series for this weekend's Indy 8 Hour sports car event. This is the second bullfight on Sunday.
Reeves directs the No. 92 BRZRKR, which promotes his Quadrinhos story “The Book of Elsewhere.” He's Cody Jones' co-star in “Dude Perfect.”
Reeves has previous bullfighting experience as a former Long Beach Grand Prix Toyota Celebrity Bullfighting participant. Reeves finished the event in 2009.
He should appear at the 30th screening of “Speed” at the 3rd Gallery in Los Angeles alongside his co-star Sandra Bullock.
