Just days after watching Nobody Wants This on Netflix, the romantic comedy series has become a source of viral moments and inspired numerous binge-watches, with a series led by Adam Brody and Kristen Bell The show premiered with 10.3 million views last weekend.
“It's really amazing,” series breeder Erin Foster told TheWrap. “I couldn't prepare myself — I couldn't help it.”
For Foster, whose real-life experience converting to Judaism to marry her husband (who is not a rabbi) inspired the series, the answers to both questions are “riveting” as viewers respond to the show's themes of “love and love.” “Love at 30.” And link your self-esteem to the relationship.

Below, as Foster details the show's most exciting moments, like Adam's passion for Brody, he reveals that he's “lived” the romance between Morgan and Sasha.
TheWrap: “I Can Handle You” has been trending on different social media platforms. Where did you find the inspiration for that moment and why do you think that particular moment resonated so strongly?
Erin Foster: We are a generation of strong women who sometimes have a tough exterior and feel torn between, “Are we too much?” Should we be less? …We know that you can find something alpha, but it's toxic, or something beta, which is healthy, and we don't go through those choices.
I didn't start a relationship with my husband, but I'm sorry. I was nervous about being a legal face because I thought he wouldn't be able to handle me. Instead of doing something everyone did when he goes out, or Sega, he goes into a state of panic, goes into a spiral and holds on even harder… His instinct was to stay strong and really confident in himself and say: “Você tem” what to stop – eu estou You don't want to go anywhere. Did you have Seth Cohen in mind during these films?
Erin: No, I know people were looking forward to being on The OC, but when The OC was on, I was 20 and I wasn't a fan of The OC. I didn't think of him as a Seth Cohen character, because I wrote the character before he became a hired actor, but I like the idea of people becoming like Seth Cohen as he grows up. I'm glad the head chef on the show is Rabbi Cohen, and one of the writers just put the words Rabbi Cohen and you have to clean up all the names. We put Adam to the test and said, “Hey, this might be weird… my name was Seth Cohen in The OC, should we change that?” And Christine said, “You know what happens next… that's what you love.” Find out more. SARAH: To her credit, when Kristen came in, she wasn't expecting it from… Day one, she was like Adam Brody.
Adam and Kristen have romantic interests in “House of Lies”. Is this what happened when you were shooting or broadcasting?
Erin: She told me they were already involved in something together. We are among the writers. room, and showed us a clip of them drinking in “House of Lies” and… I didn’t see, he was still like, “That’s not in character.” Adam said in an interview: “Let's do other things together. The chemistry between us has never been like this before.” Here we play these two characters who, at this moment in their lives, find this intense chemistry.

Erin: I would say close to 30 years. It's hard to wear them at home for 40 years, if you want them to go to the wedding and the kids, or because the audience wants to see them on the same path as this in the first season. Time pressure that you need to solve, but it's always fun to talk about, so you just want to be able to appreciate it more. I met my husband when I was 35, which is a very interesting point for many women who worry about whether they will find their partner.
Season 1 ends with Noah realizing that not only can he have a non-Jewish love and a job as a rabbinic chef, but he also has a Goan himself. Where does it leave us for the start of Season 2 and what will Season 2 explore?
Erin: It's a big question mark for one thing. The intent is to be like: “So what's going to happen? Então você escolhendo ela? Are you going to quit your job? How are you going to make this work? What's it going to be like?” This was intentional, so we had to figure it out in the Season 2 fan room.

So people become obsessed with knowing that he is their ex-husband… We need more information about what happened in this relationship… What motivates Morgan?
How did you find the chemistry line between Morgan and Sasha without it being completely romantic?
Erin: We fell into this issue of being an on-and-off love story throughout the season.
Sarah: Now that the first season is (unavailable) it's so improved.
Erin: We played around with a lot of different ideas about where we were going to go and why we were going to the right place.
Sarah: This is perfect… Man, are they hiring? They have become a kind of safe space for others. They're relatable…people love their dynamic.
With Noah at a potential dramatic turning point, how do you want to maintain the essence of the series in a potential second season?
Erin: We pay attention to what people enjoy, and they definitely take advantage of moments of intimacy, vulnerability, and connection mixed with humor. We're going to go, we're going to have a second season, and we're going to do our best not to ruin the series and not try to be something different, and try to keep it going just so people become apaksonaram.
Sarah: As you watch, maybe the avoidant becomes really secure and interesting, and Noah gets really attached to him.
