With iZotope Aurora, you can get clean reverb processing that reacts to the input signal, allowing you to build reverbs that cut through the mix.
iZotope has certainly packed in a range of features, as Aurora offers six different reverb types, a useful filter section, and an unmasking feature that helps you clean up the wet reverb signal.
iZotope Aurora
As we saw with the Plasma saturation plug-in from iZotope, intelligent processing is the name of the game. How the adaptive unmasking processor works within Aurora is, that it analyzes the incoming audio signal and creates space in the frequency spectrum.
This means that the wet and dry signals aren’t fighting with each other for space in the mix, and you can quickly dial in reverbs with clarity and depth. Aurora uses great-sounding algorithms from Exponential Audio, so you can expect to be amazed.
In the center of the Aurora interface, you have the frequency analysis and filter section. Here, you can set the frequency range of your reverb, with high-pass and low-pass filters. Also, the frequency curve will illustrate what the Unmask processor is doing, which is useful.
On the left side, you’ll find the main Reverb control, as well as knobs for the pre-delay and decay time, with width and tone controls below this. These are all the basic controls for dialing in reverb sounds on Aurora, so the workflow is fast.
On the opposite end, the Unmask section has attack and release controls to shape the envelope and sensitivity control to adjust the intensity of the shaping you need.
Overall, Aurora looks like reverb with an intuitive “less-is-more” design, making it easy for any artist, producer, or engineer to get great reverb sounds quickly.
