Guitar Journal: Taylor Swift Guitar Smashed!
Taylor Swift Guitar Smashed
The man paid $4,000 for what was described as an “autographed” Taylor Swift acoustic guitar, only to smash it to pieces.
Footage of the incident at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner in Waxahachie, Texas, has since gone viral. The event was a fundraiser to support agricultural education for local youth.
This region of Texas has a strong conservative political leaning, and many residents express disapproval of the Biden-Harris administration, which Swift has shown support for.
Hammered
The man in the video can be seen approaching the stage, where an auction staff member is waiting with the instrument. The guitar is covered in images of Swift from her record-breaking Eras Tour.
The man then takes hold of both and smashes the face of the guitar with the hammer, to loud cheering from the audience. As the man returns to his seat with the broken instrument in hand, the auctioneer laughs, passes him a box, and says: “Now take that and hang up that busted thing.”
It was a bit of a waste of a guitar, but at least the money went toward a good cause.
Billie Eilish Goes Electric
Billie Eilish kicked off her Hit Me Hard And Soft tour in Quebec on 29 September with a powerful performance of ‘Happier Than Ever.’ She debuted her new electric guitar, a Fender American Pro II Telecaster, in Dark Night finish during the show.
No Ukulele?
Eilish is known for playing acoustic instruments, including the ukulele (she has a Fender signature model) and sometimes an acoustic guitar, so this was a significant shift in her live performance.
JF-101 Mesquerfresquer Lowpass Filter
JFX Pedals has unveiled the JF-101 Mesquerfresquer Lowpass Filter, a compact and powerful recreation of the iconic Moogerfooger unit. This dynamic filter offers sweeps, expressive textures, and deep, funky bass lines.
The Voltage-Controlled Lowpass Filter allows users to sculpt their sound with an adjustable cutoff frequency. The Envelope Follower offers dynamic filter sweeps that react to playing style.
Control Voltage and more
It also has CV and expression pedal inputs and outputs, perfect for performance and integration with other gear.
Selectable filter slopes are available for different tonal characteristics; choose between 12dB/octave and 24dB/octave. Then, adjust the Drive, Mix, Resonance, and Envelope amount to tailor the sound.
This new recreation of a classic is undoubtedly far more affordable than the original Moog pedal sells for on the used market.
