Global Music and Sound studio Syn has taken out an Emmy for outstanding sound mixing for the award-winning TV series ‘Shogun’. Syn, who recently signed up with the m25 network for representation in Asia, has offices across the globe, including Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, LA and London.
Shogun follows the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds, John Blackthorne, a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga, a shrewd, powerful Daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous political rivals; and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties, who must prove her value and allegiance.
Akaku Takashi, ADR Mixer, Syn, says “It was so surprising and such an amazing experience for me. I was so glad to share the moment with Nick and my wife, both have supported me for a very long time. I was also so impressed by Hiroyuki Sanada (lead actor) passion and determination for making a ‘REAL’ Samurai drama, which is what he finally achieved. Again, I am so honoured to be a part of the team and it definitely becomes a precious highlight in my career.”
“Attending the Emmy awards with Akaku and his wife was a wonderful experience and sitting with the Shogun team made it even more exciting. I am so very proud of this incredible achievement and recognition for Akaku and the Syn team,” said Nick Wood, Syn, Founder/CEO.
Chris Thorp, m25, Founder said: “What a real honour to have this calibre of work and talent on the m25 network, I have known Nick and his team Syn for a number of year’s, I could not be more proud.”
“This won’t go unnoticed in Korea, it is an amazing achievement. I am looking forward to sharing Syn with more contacts in Seoul on the back of this,” added Chloe Ko, m25 Executive Producer.
