OnePlus and BOE are teaming up once again, this time around for the OnePlus 13 display. The name of the display is the BOE X2, and it was teased by OnePlus China head, Louis Jie on Weibo.

The OnePlus 13 will utilize the BOE X2 display, and the phone’s front side possibly got shown on Weibo

He said OnePlus completed the outdoor lighting test of the BOE X2. As part of that, he also shared an image, which possibly shows the front side of the OnePlus 13. The BOE X2 is a quad micro-curved display, in case you were wondering.

What does that mean, exactly? Well, it is curved on all four sides, but only barely. Most people will assume this is a flat display, as the curvature here is mostly included for use comfort.

The image that Louis Jie shared shows that display, and a camera hole that will be centered up top. The bezels also seem to be very thin around that display, even though this image is not particularly revealing in that regard.

That display is expected to measure 6.82 inches

That display will likely measure around 6.82 inches, and it will be a 2K panel. Uniform bezels are expected to be included, and as already mentioned, they will be rather thin.

As a reminder, the OnePlus 12 is also using a display from BOE, the BOE X1. The BOE X2 is a direct successor to that display, and Louis Jie is promising great things here.

The OnePlus 12’s display had a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits, in theory, and shipped with a P1 display chip. That was an 8T LTPO panel, and it offers a 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

That makes us quite excited for this panel, as the one on the OnePlus 12 was outstanding. It remains to be seen how will BOE improve upon that.

The OnePlus 13 is expected to arrive in October, as it will be one of the first smartphones to feature the new Snapdragon flagship SoC. That chip will be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite, depending on what report you choose to believe.
