The career of Grammy Award Winner, Chris Lord-Alge, goes back to the 1970s and he’s worked on records from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, The Sugarhill Gang, Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Prince, Green Day, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and many more.

As you can imagine, he’s amassed quite a collection of rare vintage recording gear ranging from compressors, EQs, and outboard effects to his SONY digital tape machines and even his beloved SSL 4000E console.

When Chris started Mix LA in 2008, he took over the studio that Tupac and Dr. Dre previously used. This means that you can find a few of the original pieces used on Death Row recordings, including a legendary GML 8200 stereo EQ unit.
