[September 27, 2024] Kemper has announced two levels of optional upgrades for its compact Kemper Profiler Player. While LVLII adds many additional effects known and beloved from the bigger Profiler models, LVLIII gets you more preset slots and a host of extra functionalities. They are not free, however.

LVLII and LVLIII: What’s in the new upgrade packages for Kemper Profiler Player?

Kemper announced today two upgrades for the Kemper Profiler Player: LVLII and LVLIII. The wording is important here: upgrade, not update. These are not free firmware updates. Rather, both paid packages contain a variety of new features and effects.

The LVLII upgrade brings a variety of additional effect emulations known from the larger Kemper models to the compact Amp-in-a-Box. From the popular Kemper Drive and Kemper Fuzz models to a pitch shifter delay to a range of modulation effects and reverbs, the package includes almost 50 effects. And each one includes many of the presets, Kemper users know from the other Profilers models. Also included: morphing to temporarily switch and morph from one effect preset to another, beat scanner and rig X-fade time.

How much are the two upgrades?

LVLIII further expands the functionality of the Kemper Profiler Player. There is a new looper function. You also get more effect slots (four mono effects before and four stereo effects after the amp block), more rack slots (125 banks for up to 625 rigs), Parallel Path for parallel routing of effects, MIDI program change functionality for automatic, MIDI-controlled preset changes and rig spillover are included in this upgrade. Note that LVLII is mandatory to get LVLIII.
