Xiaomi has just announced two new compelling smartphones, the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro aka the Xiaomi 14T series. These devices are not technically the company’s flagships, but they’re the next best things basically.

The Xiaomi 14T series phones have an almost identical design

The two devices basically look the same but have different specs. They’re made out of metal and glass, while they have a flat display on the front. The bezels around that display are very thin, and a display camera hole sits at the top.

You’ll find three cameras on the back of both phones, though the camera islands contain four circular cutouts. The camera module is placed in the top-left corner on the back.

The ‘Pro’ model is a bit thicker and heavier

The two phones do also have the same dimensions, well, almost. The Xiaomi 14T is slightly thinner in comparison, it measures 7.95mm in terms of thickness compared to 8.39mm of the Xiaomi 14T Pro.

The ‘Pro’ model is also a bit heavier at 209 grams compared to 195 grams of the vanilla model. Both smartphones have a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED DotDisplay with a 144Hz refresh rate. That display has a resolution of 2712 x 1220, and has a high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160Hz. It also supports HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection is included on both phones.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro also trumps its sibling when it comes to processor power

The Xiaomi 14T is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chip. That chip is backed with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro, on the flip side, comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. That chip is combined with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage.

The Xiaomi Surge G1 chip can be found in both smartphones. The Xiaomi Surge P2, on the other hand, is included in the ‘Pro’ model only. Both smartphones do have a dual SIM setup (nano SIM + eSIM), and the Surge T1 chip for connectivity.

They include the same battery, but different charging options & speeds

You’ll find a set of stereo speakers in both smartphones, along with Dolby Atmos support. A 5,000mAh battery sits in both smartphones. The Xiaomi 14T supports 67W wired charging, while the Xiaomi 14T Pro supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The two phones have the same ultrawide cameras, but their main and telephoto shooters are different. The Xiaomi 14T Pro has an edge in that regard, that’s for sure

The Xiaomi 14T Pro includes a 50-megapixel OmniVision OVX9000 Light Fusion 900 sensor. That is a 1/1.31-inch camera sensor with a 1.2um pixel size. A Leica Vario-Summilux 1:1.68-2.2/12-65 ASPH lens is included here too. OIS is supported, while we’re looking at an f/1.6 aperture lens here.

The Xiaomi 14T, on the other hand, comes with a 50-megapixel main camera too, but Sony’s IMX906 sensor. That is a 1/1.56-inch camera sensor with a 1um pixel size. An f/1.7 aperture lens is included here, a Leica Vario-Summilux 1:1.68-2.2/12-65 ASPH lens. OIS is supported as well.

The same ultrawide camera sits on both Xiaomi 14T series phones

There is a 12-megapixel OV13B ultrawide camera included on both phones. That is a 1/3.06-inch sensor and it offers a 1.12um pixel size. An f/2.2 aperture lens is also a part of the package.

The third camera on both phones is a telephoto unit, but it’s not the same. The one on the Xiaomi 14T has an f/1.9 aperture and a 50mm lens, while we’re also looking at a 1/2.76-inch sensor. That’s all we know. The Xiaomi 14T Pro, on the other hand, has a 50-megapixel camera with a 60mm lens, and an f/2.0 aperture.

The Xiaomi 14T comes in Titan Blue, Titan Gray, Titan Black, and Lemon Green colors. The ‘Pro’ model, on the flip side, comes in Titan Blue, Titan Gray, and Titan Black colors.

The Xiaomi 14T starts at €649, while the Xiaomi 14T Pro can be bought for €799. Depending on the market and model, however, Xiaomi is offering some free goodies with your purchase, like a free Redmi Pad Pro and a 120W charger.
