Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has landed… with a higher price tag

Posted on

Samsung has just announced a new smartphone, the Galaxy S24 FE. This is a smartphone that we leaked exclusively several times, and it’s now finally official. It is rather similar to its predecessor design-wise, though it comes with a higher price tag.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE comes with flat sides, unlike its predecessor

The Galaxy S24 FE comes with flat sides all around, unlike its predecessor. That, and the larger display, are the main design differences between the two phones. Due to the display size increase, the Galaxy S24 FE is a larger device, of course.

Unlike its predecessor, which included a 6.4-inch display, the Galaxy S24 FE has a 6.7-inch fullHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It can get quite bright, though, as its brightness goes up to 1,900 nits. The display is flat, by the way, and is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus+.

The phone features an aluminum frame, and a glass back. The bezels around the display are thin, but not uniform, while a display camera hole sits at the top of the display. There are three cameras included on the back, and they’re vertically-aligned. Each of the cameras protrudes directly from the phone’s back side.

It is water and dust resistant

This handset has all of its physical buttons on the right side. The power/lock button is placed below the volume up and down buttons. Yes, it is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

The phone is fueled by the Samsung Exynos 2400e. Samsung also included 8GB of RAM here, along with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage.

A 4,700mAh battery is also a part of the package here. When it comes to charging, you get the option 25W wired or 15W wireless charging, but do note that the charger is not included in the package. Reverse wireless charging is supported.

The camera setup is identical to what the Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers

A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 apeture, OIS) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (123-degree FoV). The third camera on the back is an 8-megapixel telephoto unit (3x optical zoom). On the front, you’ll find a 10-megapixel selfie shooter. This phone has the same camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Android 14 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with One UI 6.1 skin. Galaxy AI is a part of the package, of course, with a number of features such as Portrait Studio, Circle to Search, Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, and Live Translate.

The device comes in four colors & it’s more expensive

The phone has been announced in Blue, Graphite, Gray, Mint, and Yellow colors. What about the price? Well, this year’s model is $50 more expensive. Its 128GB storage model is priced at $649. As a reminder, the Galaxy S23 FE started at $599 when it launched last year. The phone goes on pre-order today, and will be available for purchase on October 3.
