Diamond Pedals has outdone themselves with the Dark Cloud, a groundbreaking hybrid analogue-digital delay pedal.
Dark Cloud
The Dark Cloud is a moody, ambient music maker’s dream. It offers sublime delays, combining the warmth and character of analogue delay with the precision and flexibility of digital signal processing.
Diamond has made a delay pedal that inspires and offers some beautiful textural effects; all wrapped up in a compact black enclosure.
dBBD
Powered by Diamond’s innovative dBBD (Digital Bucket Brigade Delay) technology, the Dark Cloud offers three distinct delay modes:
- Tape: Experience a warm, saturated delay with synchronized modulation and a delay time of up to 1000 milliseconds.
- Harmonic: Add harmonic dimensions to your sound with a delayed octave or fifth above the input signal.
- Reverse: Create unique, lo-fi effects with the classic reversed delay mode.
These unique modes, Tape, Harmonic, and Reverse, are available to create texture and ambience and offer excellent ways to express yourself. It has a very dreamy-sounding effect that can sit perfectly in your songs.
Tap Tempo with Subdivisions
Easily set the delay tempo using the Tap foot switch, with options for quarter notes, eighth notes, and dotted eighth notes. Or instantly double the delay tempo for dynamic and rhythmic effects. Then, Trails or Kill Mode allows users to choose whether the delay signal fades out gradually or stops abruptly when they turn off the pedal.
Dream Maker
This dreamy, dark delay can achieve BBD-style effects that go well beyond what a standard analogue delay could ever hope to create. The dBBD digital heart of this pedal will allow you to experiment with texture and make the delay ebb and flow.
It’s a great-sounding new delay effect and one I really want to try out myself.
