Antique Manchester United Youngster Michael Appleton has been offered a job to return to Old Trafford as the club's new loan manager, story two.
Appleton, 48, spent five years in United's academy and five years outside the club from 1992 to 1997 before moving permanently to Preston.
He entered football in 2011 and most recently took charge of Charlton Athletic in the Championship before being released by the Addicks in January.
Appleton also managed Blackpool, Lincoln City, Oxford United, Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth.
Or former retirees are unemployed, but in second place or Daily MailHe was recently given the opportunity to become United's Loans Manager.
The job will see Appleton oversee United's young players who have been loaned out to other clubs.
However, Appleton rejected the offer from his former club, and United now need to find someone else to fill the position.
News that Appleton was unaware that United later saw two other former players – Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hack – return to the club as coaches.
Van Nistelrooy cut short his managerial career to work with Erik ten Hag and is desperate to help the Red Devils return to their best.
“It's a 100 percent decision (to return),” Van Nistelrooy said. TNT Sports“I felt a strong sense that I wanted to help build United – bit by bit – back to where we feel and know the club should be.

“I just want to contribute to getting the club to where it needs to be and, at times, keeping it there. I hope that when it comes to that, it will be short. I want to contribute. I have a strong feeling that I want to do this.
