Get the Pixel 8 for $499 plus a free Pixel Watch

Google’s Pixel 8  may not be the newest Pixel phone in the franchise anymore, but this deal is too good to pass up if you’re thinking about upgrading from your old phone. Right now Amazon has the Pixel 8 128GB on sale for $499, which is the lowest price it’s ever been. That’s already not a bad deal considering the phone normally costs $699, however, the deal gets even better. Amazon is throwing in a bonus gift: a free Pixel Watch Wi-Fi when you buy the phone. So you get a fairly new device plus a free smartwatch all for $500.

Honestly, this is probably one of the better deals we’ve seen for the Pixel 8. Now the Pixel Watch you get is the first-gen model, so it won’t have Wear OS 5 or the latest features of the Pixel Watch 3. But most of the features are the same, and it’s a free smartwatch so really there’s nothing to dislike about the deal. Google’s Pixel 8 is one of the best phones we’ve tested in a while, and we said it was the “Android phone you deserve” when we reviewed it last year.

Battery life is pretty decent and the performance was good, but where it really shines is with the camera and the AI features. The camera on the Pixel 8 took some of last year’s best smartphone pictures, and the AI features really just kind of amp things up. As for the Pixel Watch that you’ll get for free with this purchase, you can use it for smartphone notifications, heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and many more things. In fact, it should also now allow Google Wallet payments and directions through Google Maps. As the watch has been updated to the latest version of Wear OS 4.
