Brass snares are rare these days. The amount of material and craftsmanship required to build one seems too high for most drum makers. The all-new DrumCraft Bell Brass Snare begs to differ. This all-brass snare drum brings a massive tone and catchy looks to the table.
DrumCraft Bell Brass Snare: 12 kilograms of tone
Besides the obvious challenges in manufacturing a brass snare, there is also the sheer weight to consider – both for maker and player of said snare. Compared to any wood type, these drums are heavy monsters! The new DrumCraft Bell Brass Snare is not different.
It weighs a mighty 12 kilograms or over 26 pounds! The snare drum is made of a massive cast bronze shell with 3.0 mm wall thickness. That is some serious bell brass action! Judging by the sounds in the product video, it sounds just as big. The new snare is up against the big bronze boys from the likes of Tama, Gretsch and DW, but it sounds like it’s up to the job.
Satin chrome hardware, Nickelworks snare strainer
Besides the classy bronze look, the DrumCraft Bell Brass Snare sports all-new satin chrome hardware that complements its aura. Talk about eye- (and ear-) catchy!
In addition this 14″ x 6.5″ snare is equipped with a Nickelworks snare strainer. So whether you’re heavy on ghost notes or a hard hitter, this strainer will translate your style perfectly.
