The former US president was at his golf club in Florida when shots were fired “in the immediate vicinity.”
A shooting occurred Sunday at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was playing golf.
The Trump campaign said the former president was not injured in the shooting and was evacuated with local law enforcement.
“President Trump is safe, following a shooting incident in his vicinity. No further details at this time.” Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Cheung said.

US media have given several conflicting accounts of the events, with initial accounts suggesting the incident had nothing to do with Trump and was simply two people pulling each other.
However, additional reports on the matter indicate that the shooting appeared to be linked to Trump, with multiple sources telling CNN that the Secret Service shot the suspect. Unknown parties familiar with the matter told the station that a gunman was intent on attacking Trump.
The suspect believed to be linked to the incident has been placed under arrest, the Martin Xerife County Cabinet said in a Facebook post. A stretch of Highway 95 in Andamanzo, Accrecento has been cordoned off for investigation.

The incident came just weeks after Trump survived an assassination attempt during his campaign in Pennsylvania. The former president was shot in the ear as he spoke about the incident, and one person was killed and two others were wounded. The perpetrator, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed outside the local police station by a counter-assassination squad.
