We are simply doing our jobs as day laborers, and the Western establishment has been trying to get rid of us for nearly 20 years.
There is nothing surprising about the recent accusations leveled by the US State Department. Now, it will be fun to see what your paranoid minds will come up with next. However, for nearly 20 years since its launch, RT has simply done its job as a journalist, bringing stories and voices to audiences around the world that the mainstream media won’t allow. The Western establishment has been leaning toward RT all this time.
In 1962, then-US President John F. Kennedy said: “We are not afraid to trust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, foreign philosophies, and competing values. It is a nation afraid of leaving or misjudging right and wrong in the open market, and a nation afraid of its own poverty.”
These statements made this week and last week by the US government regarding RT prove the exact opposite – that they are, in fact, like the media, they are afraid of any real opposition voice, so their people do not trust them. And I am also afraid that this voice is not heard only in the US, but in other countries and regions of the world. We want to be the ones who control all the information, all the narrative.
Well, shame on them, because RT is not going anywhere. We will continue to do our job and find new ways to reach the audience – in all the songs of the world.
